And then there were 3...

7 weeks old

Brian and I are so excited to finally announce that we are expecting our third child early next year! The cat has been out of the bag for awhile and those close to me have known since I was about three weeks along. However, being that I am 35 and considered advanced maternal age we wanted to wait until after my first trimester to share it with the world. We have many friends that keep up with us through our blog from college, work etc...that we do not talk to that often. So, if you did not know...now you do! :)

I am writing this on the end of a week that has been truly exhausting. I have had both kids with a stomach virus, a husband gone all week and parents that are endlessly out of town! There is definitely a lack of sleep from my end and I sit and ponder...this is only the beginning! Wait until there are three! Writing that just puts a smile on my face! Even though it has been rough and I know it will be that way for a few years, we could not be happier! The past two OB appointments I have had, they did ultrasounds to hear the heartbeat. I was only eleven weeks at my second appointment. I must say, it never gets old watching your baby on an ultrasound. What a little miracle God has given us...to start a new life! I was lying there and I could see the baby move it's arms! How crazy is it that at eleven weeks they are almost fully developed? All I could do is stare in amazement. It was as if this was the first pregnancy I have ever had. People keep asking me, do you read the books or is it just your third and no big deal. Well, I do not read the books because I would never have the time. I also know what to expect the third time around. However, I still look at weekly developments of the baby and what is going on inside. I am amazed by pregnancy and our bodies ability to do what it does in developing/sustaining a new life.

11 weeks old

The baby is due around early March but, if this pregnancy is anything like the last two it could be late Febuary. This time around has been 360 degrees different from the others! I had horrible sickness with the first two and this has been a breeze comparatively speaking. I have had some nausea, but nothing that is to terrible. The worst thing so far has been, low blood pressure. The heat plays a factor in that too. It just comes over me and I get very light headed and need to sit down. My doctor told me to try and drink plenty of fluids and I am trying to do that but, my goodness, as if you do not have to pee enough! That is really it with the symptoms. Oh, I almost forgot that I am utterly exhausted!

The one thing that we are doing to keep the excitement going is not finding out the sex this time. We have one of both so, we have everything we need. Besides, we want a little suspense in our lives. So, everyone start placing your bets! There are many people who think we will cave but, we won't! It will be hard, but a lot of fun! The only thing we want to know is that our baby is healthy! The big ultrasound is in five weeks and then we can relax and enjoy this pregnancy!

The kids are excited too. I have already had a request for a brother! How sweet is that? Henley loves babies so, I hope she still loves them when they do not leave her house? Well, we will see how the dynamics change in our home. Whatever the case may be, it will be challenging but, fun too. I pray everyday for more patience and understanding so, by the time there are three, I hope my prayers have been answered.

We will update you soon and keep us all in your prayers.
