After three weeks in a full leg cast the day has finally come to get a short leg cast!:) it has been so tough for my sweet girl to get around and do the things she wants. Chasing after her brother and defending herself against him too has been a challenge. It is truly amazing to see how adaptable children can become to their circumstance. In the beginning you had to carry her everywhere, then she learned to scoot everywhere and then she was walking with it. We even had to stop her because she would try to run and climb!!! Ugh...we did not need another broken limb.We were worried that when we went back to the doctor it would or could be worse because of all the knocking around, but thank goodness that was not the case. We removed the full leg cast and this is what we got in return. Her knee is very tender because she had it in a bent position for three weeks. She cried at the doctor because it hurt to straighten and bend it. They told us after a few days it would be back to normal. Her are some pictures of getting the cast cut off and the new improved shorter one put on! Unfortunately, it will not be off before our beach trip, but it is waterproof and she will be able to swim in it!!!
