Ribs Anyone???????

O.K. little Christian had a fabulous Memorial Day weekend and I might of paid for the tasting of ribs and home made ice cream but, he had fun anyhow!

The weekend started off with a visit to his brand new baby cousin Bennett and he was very interested in her for about a moment. Once he realized he could not put her in his mouth he quickly moved on to something he could!!! When we had the little ones next to each other it made me wonder....how could Christian be in the 10th percentile for weight??? He looks gargantuan next to Bennett! She is precious and so tiny. Steve and Lynn cooked hamburgers and ribs on the grill and everyone else brought a side. It was very tasty! Kudos to Julie for having a house full of people so soon after getting Bennett home!

The next day was Monday and my parents turn to have a little one on one time with Christian...if I was only loved as much as this little guy!@&? Christian had a late nap, so we did not get over to my parents house until about 4:00pm. A little late for swimming in the pool and a little to cold as well! However, Christian really enjoys the water. So we dipped his feet and before you know it he was in his diaper on the top step splashing joyfully!!! After some relaxing in the swing it was time to eat. Christian, like all children would rather eat what mommy and daddy are eating then what you give them. We let him have some potatoes and taste a piece of rib. The rib played many roles starting with a teething ring and doubled as a play toy! I should keep them in stock at my home!!!

After playing with Aunt Heather and Boppa a.k.a Grandpa it was time for a taste of home made ice cream before we hit the road. Someone was a little cranky because sleepiness was setting in and it was close to bed time. However, the sugar in the ice cream pepped Christian right up and he was all giggles for the next 15 minutes!!! It was a great weekend and fun was had by all!

Welcome Beautiful Bennett Clegg Mizerany!!!!

Congratulations to Julie and Steve as they welcome their brand new baby girl Bennett Clegg Mizerany! She was born yesterday early evening at 4:21 p.m. and weighing in at 5lbs 13oz and 19 inches long! She is absolutely beautiful with her momma's full lips and her daddy's eyes, I think she already has her pappa wrapped around those tiny little fingers! We could not be more thrilled to welcome her into this world and look forward to many fun times in the future!

Momma is doing great and even with the lack of sleep I do believe she has a permanent smile painted on her face! Hopefully, they are able to come home on Saturday and then the fun really begins! We wish them well and send our love and prayers to be with this beautiful new family!

Congratulations and we love you all!!!!

Destination....Outside

Okay....so I thought I wanted my little monkey to become mobile, but this is ridiculous!!! As you have probably read from past blogs Christian is in love with our dogs. It is one thing to follow after them in the house, but something different when he tries to follow them out the dog door?!&@ He is too cute scooting all over the house and even though it is his own special crawl (kinda like a crab) he gets around very fast! I can not take my eyes off him for a minute! No rest for the weary any time soon!

Christian loves to be outside, so we take frequent trips to the park where he can swing and with help from mommy take a few trips down the slide!!! A few Popsicles later and some play time with the dogs and he might slow down just a little to have some food. A recent trip to the doctor for a check up and we discovered Christian to be growing perfectly, but in the low percentile for weight! I do not know where he gets this from....he would rather play and run around then eat anything! Does not want to miss a beat of action even if that means for going a meal!!!! Anyhow, all is well and he is perfectly healthy and the doctor says he is ahead of schedule physically because he is already pulling up on things....pray for me if he starts walking soon!!!

Christian is excited to have his Nene and Poppy in town for the birth of his new Cousin Bennett and can not wait to meet her too! We hope to spend some time introducing them as soon as Julie and Steve get settled. She is absolutely beautiful and I know Christian will be the big, overbearing protective cousin he should be as they grow up together!

" The Zoo""

Today I decided it would be fun to take Christian to the Birmingham Zoo. Since I have not been there in probably 15 years either, I thought it would be an adventure. Well, I have to say that apparently all animals take naps in the afternoon or they were just seeking refuge from the heat! We went to the Children's Zoo first, which is actually a petting zoo and Christian got to get up close and personal with some goats, cows, chickens and ponies. I did not exactly let him pet these animals because the word Sanitary comes to mind when I looked at them! He did find them quite interesting and would probably have stuck them in his mouth given the opportunity! We trudged around and saw some otters... I think and some other random animals in the petting zoo. This was fine, but I wanted him to see bigger and better animals like Lions and Tigers and Bears oh my!!!!! Well we set off looking for the monkeys because this is affectionately what I call Christian. Since he has been crawling and pulling up on everything this name is definitely suiting him very well!!! Christian was able to see some monkeys for a short time, but then they stopped playing and took a rest up high in the trees where his little eyes could not find them! We kept going and went inside to see the indoor monkeys and baboons and obviously it was nap time because all were asleep and nothing to be seen! Disappointing, but we kept going hoping for some sign of life. Finally we realized Christian would meet the monkeys another day! We decided that it would be fun to take a break and ride the carousel and have some food or bottle! After the carousel, which Christian enjoyed immensely we had a snack and Christian fell in love with Popsicles! I definitely have them on the shopping list for the next grocery run! Next stop were the zebras, giraffes, elephants and larger animals! By now my little monkey was getting tired and fading very quickly! As we quickly strolled around I tried to get him interested in all these animals, but he was not having any of it and neither were the animals....considering they were all asleep! Last stop was the train ride around the zoo and my little man was asleep. A tiring adventure at the zoo for this little guy too!

Puppy Love!!!!

The fun has begun and we are off to the races with Christian! Thanks to two warm and fuzzy animals he has started crawling around our home. It is not what you think, however strange it may be, his idea of crawling is a little different! He is pulling up on everything and I think would sooner walk than crawl, but he is mixing the two with his own special twist! With one knee on the ground and the other foot pushing off the ground, like he is walking, he moves around just fine! I have to give credit to whom it is due and it is not me! Our dog Jetta, whom Christian adores is the one who has gotten him moving! Christian love our dogs and wants to be near them or on top of them at all times!!! However, I am not so sure that they are excited about this little person crawling on top of them! When Christian gets to close, Jetta moves away! This is a game they have been playing all day today! Finally he is on the move, but the question now is can she keep Christian out of her dinner bowl??????

Brian's Birthday

Monday was Brian's bithday, but since he was going to be out of town we celebrated it all weekend long! Brian enjoyed his first birthday as a father and did many fun things with Christian and I. We started out Saturday morning with a softball game of one of our friends daughter Malerie. Christian enjoyed watching all those little girls running around....what can I say, like father like son! Then we were off for an afternoon swimming at Jana's house with Christian for the first time. The picture is perfect because he was a little crabby just like his float! That evening Christian helped Brian open his presents and I have no doubt will be an expert when August rolls around! Although Christian thought the gifts were fun, he was scared by the ritual of singing Happy Birthday and blowing out candles!!!! Took a little while for the crying to stop, but when it did he was all smiles for the camera with daddy!

First Swimming Lessons

Today turned out to be a beautiful day and we decided maybe time for Christian to take his first swim lesson! The water was a little cold, but our friends, Sam and Jana, turned on the heater in their hot tub to warm it up for him. He was a little tired, but we thought he could power through it for a few minutes. Anyhow, he seemed to like it? Not the great reaction we were hoping for, but again he was tired! We have plenty of more summer time opportunities and we are headed to the beach at the end of this month!

Hello everyone! Wow I can not believe that I the most technoligically challenged person has figured this out! I am following Julie's lead for those on that side of the family and starting a blog of our family. I think it is a great way to keep in touch and show you how much Christian is growing as well as what Brian and I have been up too.

Here is a recent picture of Christian at Easter. I can not believe how much he has grown and I can not believe Brian let me put him in this adorable outfit....since he is a boy! He had a ball on his first Easter and got some new toys in his Easter basket. Dying eggs was interesting since he wanted to eat the hard boiled eggs more than dye them!
