Busy Weekend!

It seems like when you have children the time just flies buy...I honestly don't know where my days go sometimes? This weekend Brian and I wanted to get out of the house and do something outdoors. The weather has been beautiful, but dreadfully hot! It has already hit in the 90's and the summer months are not even close! Yikes, I think we are in for a miserable, hot summer! Thank goodness for pools!
Anyway, on Saturday we met up with Julie and the kids to go to the zoo. We wanted to get an early start because it was supposed to be so darn hot that day. We met at 9:30 and started off on a good foot. We went to see the sea lion show which was very entertaining for Christian and Bennett. Christian is a little impatient for the show to start and he kept screaming come on, come on! Wonderful manners our little guy is developing...huh? When the show was over it was so stinking hot that we went to see some animals that were indoors and where there was air conditioning. That led us to the monkeys! I think Christian and Bennett wanted to desperately get out of monkey land because they could not eat their popcorn indoors! We were on our way to the tigers and some little munchkins became mesmerized by some camels! Well many times we have tried to get Christian to ride one, but he always gets scared. Bennett was raring to go...so off they all went to try it out! I stayed behind to watch the babies and take some photos. I did not think Christian would get on, but somehow Brian and Julie convinced him to do it! They both of course loved it and wanted more, more!!! When that diversion was over we made our way to the tigers and then that was enough of the zoo and the heat!
We all went to lunch at Chappy's Deli and then home for a nap!

Sunday was a busy day too. We all got up and went to church. We went to breakfast afterwards at this knew little place called Berogues (something like that). It is a new meat and three restaurant on 280 with great breakfast. The place is small a little too small to have children with you to eat. Henley knocked over a full glass of water in my lap and Christian was talking VERY loudly...everyone could hear and see exactly what are kids were doing! People were even laughing and commenting on Christian's response to the water spill..UH OH Henley spill, UH OH! So embarrassing!!! When are wonderful breakfast was over we headed to Lowes to get some more plants to pot in to our planters around the driveway and front porch! I also added some cucumbers to my garden of tomatoes, green peppers and jalapenos! We put up the water slide for Christian to play in while we worked and Henley napped! When Henley woke up we put her in her bathing suit and tried out the water with her! She loved it! I knew she would because she loves the bath tub! I got some video of them in the water slide, but not much because someone was naked! I do not think anyone wants to see Christian naked running around! Brian was power washing something...so it looks like a silent old home movie!

Keeping Up!

It seems her lately that our two 1/2 year old is getting more energy? Is that possible? I read in an article that 25% of children give up ALL naps by the age of three! Could this be my future? Never to have any silence in my house again? ARGH...I think I will have a mental break down! Right now both my munchkins are asleep and it is soo quiet in my house! Henley has a "raging" ear infection (the words the doctor used) and has been terribly fussy! Both the kids have not been sleeping at all! However, Christian is not sick he is just HYPER!!! He fights me about nap time everyday and sometimes it is just not worth the battle! I know some of you are reading this saying, "your crazy I would make him", but there is one problem. When and if little man decides to take a nap then he is recharged more than ever! That means Bedtime is a nightmare all over again because he can not calm down! I turn down lights and no rough housing we read books, but he just bounces off the walls like a mad man! Momma needs some down time and if he does not nap than bedtime is 7:oopm! Yeah! It is a double edged sword!

Christian is just an energizer bunny he keeps going and going! I know where he gets it from and it is NOT me! Thanks Brian! I really try to wear him down, but it is a difficult task! The days he is home we play outside, go to the park and we go on a jog...he actually gets out of the stroller and will run behind me! Does that wear him out???Nope! We ride his tricycle up and down the street and he can peddle very well I might add! He has a bike at my parents house that he rides and absolutely loves! I know what he will be getting for his birthday! Christian even loves to pull Henley up and down the street in a wagon and STILL not the least bit tired! I have tried everything except letting him run behind the golf cart... which wears the dogs out!

Well usually after a few days of this going and going he gets a little cranky and he eventually runs down. Hence why he asleep right now. I can always tell when that day rolls around because he throws tantrums every other minute! Oh Well I guess with a daddy who is the same way I did not have a chance. I just can not wait for sports to enter our and help with some of that excess energy! Hopefully, Henley and I will be able to keep up!

Here is some video of Christian riding bikes at my parents house on Easter. Ignore the commentary I was talking to my mother's friend.

6 months and uh....three weeks!

I have been a bad blogger mama lately because our daughter's six month check up came and went and I did not write about it! I have had sick children with viruses and allergies around my house for a few weeks! Then there were relatives in town and Easter and let me see if I can think of any more excuses???

Alright so Henley my precious, spoiled rotten angel is perfect and healthy according to our doctor. Her check up was great and she is doing everything she is supposed to be doing. Just like her adorable cousin, she too eats just about anything she can get her hands on! Her bottom two teeth are in the process of breaking through and I can not wait to start table foods with her! I am constantly explaining to Christian that Henley can not eat something that he is trying to feed her because she has no teeth!! He looks at me and says, Oh and then trys again!?! Needless to say, I can not leave them alone together when he is eating! This morning he was trying to feed her waffles and syrup at the table! He then smells like syrup all day because he has it all over him! Julie should be laughing about now because another little boy used to always smell of syrup too (Brian)!

Lets see about her stats at six months...she weighed 16lbs 6oz (65%percentile) and measured 26 inches(50% percentile). I am assuming she is now in the 17lb range because she does not turn down a chance to chow! This is a huge turn around for me because I have not had a child who likes to eat! The things she is doing are: sitting up really good and rarely having any falls, rolls around on the floor, kicking against things to move herself and she can even get up on all fours when she gets really mad! Henley still dislikes being on her tummy so she will do anything to get off of it! I am watching her right now and she is playing with her feet which often times find their way into her mouth! Her two bottom teeth are breaking through and she is drooling like a mad woman! I am constantly putting orajel on them because she is soooo fussy! Poor baby I know it hurts!

I love watching her and Christian interact with each other it is so sweet! The other day a friend of mine teased Christian and told him she was taking Henley! He literally started crying! It is so adorable that he loves her so much! Kisses her every night before bed and tells her he loves her! Christian is very protective of her and loves to help me feed her and bathe her. I bathe them together every night because it is easier and he loves to rinse her hair!

Needless to say, I feel so blessed with these two wonderful, healthy babies! I just can not believe they have grown so quickly! My camera is in the shop so I can not post any pictures right now of them, but I will soon. I am going to post an Easter blog next and I have plenty of pictures for that!

Spring Brings the Cutest Things!

Today Christian had his school Spring Program. They have singing class every Wednesday and today they showed off their skills in a show for the parents! I cried it was so freaking CUTE! Christian comes home singing songs all the time, but a lot of the time I honestly have no clue what he is singing! Today shed some light on some of those tunes and I loved it! My parents came to the show and unfortunately Brian is in Jamaica on business...boo hoo for him! I really hated that he missed this program!

It is hands down my favorite thing I have ever seen Christian participate in. I went to the show expecting little of this sweet angel, but he surprised me! I thought he would just sit there and stare out into the crowd. It took a song before he warmed up, but once he got going...wow he was excited to be in the limelight! I think he might be a little like his father and loved all the attention he was getting! What a HAM! The funny thing was that the little boy to his right is the son of the assistant priest at this Episcopalian church! He looked more bored and uninterested than anyone up there! I laughed so hard at these adorable kids! Christian's teacher told me that usually Christian does not sing that much in music and could care less, but today she was floored at the show he put on for everyone! I am not so sure he knew the words to all the songs, but he acted like he did! Christian loves to sing at home so I was surprised to hear he does not sing at school? The last song they sany was the blessing they do before they eat everyday! We sing this with Christian every night before dinner and it is so sweet! When the blessing had been sung we had juice and snacks for everyone. It was soooo much fun and here is some video of a little bit of the performance! Enjoy!

Thomas Adventures!

This post is a little old, but I have not been able to upload pictures lately? Anyhow, Christian still likes Thomas and trains, but not like he did six months ago! It is that time of year when Thomas the Train comes to town. The excitement is in the air for the kids because they get to go and ride a train! I think for Christian this is his favorite part of the day! We bought tickets and Christian, daddy and Boppa went to see Thomas for an adventurous afternoon!

They have everything you can imagine at the railroad station. Faces were painted and miniature golf was played. They had jumpies to bounce in and trains to play with and of course buy! Christian came home with a new Thomas backpack and a Boppa bought a new train to play with at his house! Boppa has a setup of trains and tracks at his house with bridges and tunnels and anything you could want as a train lover! Christian had a blast and came home with trains painted on his face and hands. The three of them had there picture taken with Thomas and I have it framed in our living room! I think it was a great afternoon for the three boys and they all came home tired!

Walking with Dinosaurs!

This past Saturday Brian and I took Christian to see the show" Walking with Dinosaurs!" We were worried at first because it is not recommended for children under the age of three. We did not know if Christian would freak out and cry because he was scared? This show is about the start of the dinosaur era and how it changed and evolved over the years. They talked about the changes in our world and how the continents divided. They showed what brought about the each groups of dinosaurs and how they became extinct and others evolved. The stories were about how they survived life on earth. Whether they were plant or meat eaters. They even had scenes that depicted how they would fight and protect their young or heard! This show was very educational and truly fascinating! The dinosaurs were life size and unbelievable to watch. It was really interesting to see how our world evolved before our existence.

Brian and I underestimated our son, because he absolutely LOVED it! Christian did not even flinch once and these dinosaurs were LOUD! We had great seats and were in the second row, so we were close up and personal with the dinosaurs. I believe all three of us had our jaws on the ground! Christian really liked the fighting parts and kept saying, "boom, boom... boom, boom!" This is his way of saying he wants to see some fighting! The show was two hours and he sat for the whole thing without getting antsy! That told us that he loved it! Then when it was over he got upset and was screaming more dinosaurs, more dinosaurs!

All and all it was a great afternoon! I especially loved the one on one time I got with my boys! I never get alone time with Christian and it was nice to focus 100% on him! I was able to watch every reaction and see every smile he had that afternoon! That means the world to me and I am just in love with that little guy! He is growing up so quickly!

I took some pictures...even though you were not allowed. I am having some problems uploading them. Hopefully, I will get it working soon! These pictures do not even do justice of what the dinosaurs looked like! Truly remarkable and a must see if it is in your area!
