Our Little Big Boy!

So I never thought that I would be writing about the bathroom habits of children much less be so excited about it! I have been collecting ideas of how to start potty training Christian because boys are supposed to be more difficult. Anyhow I swore that at 21/2 I would truly start working hard with him to use the potty. I had bought him a potty and everything to get him used to seeing it and being around it. Well this week I started asking him before bath time if he needed to pee in the potty? He always said, "no!" Then every time we get in the bath he pees? Go figure! Well tonight he told me no again after I asked two times and then the unimaginable happened. He got up on the toilet and squatted over it and peed! YEAH! I screamed and ran to tell Brian! We were giving him hi fives and jumping up and down like we had just won the million dollar lottery! Who knew that as adults the silly things in life would make us so happy? I guess life is kind of boring if that is the most exciting thing I have going lately?
Christian was so proud and excited that he literally peed in the potty six times! He was like a dog marking his territory and had some dribble out every time he got on the potty! Hilarious! Then to top that off, Brian took him downstairs to his own potty to try it out and he peed in his potty! The biggest surprise came next when he told Brian he had to go poo poo! I know...I can not believe I am writing about this. However, Christian climbed up on the toilet and did hid stuff! We could not believe this was happening! What a big night our little boy had! Now we have to wait and see what tomorrow will bring and if he will do it again! My bets are not on Christian although I would like to think he will surprise us!

My Little Sunshine!

When Christian was a baby I use to sing to him the song, "You are my sunshine." I guess this is the reason he was drawn to this toy he found in a baby store. We were at these outlets in Indianapolis and I was shopping around and my mom and Christian were playing. They were playing with a singing elephant with which he threw a tantrum for when we left! Michele being the grandma who always wants her grandson happy.......bought it for him! Well soon after he declared it a baby's toy and told us it was for Henley. She is fascinated with the elephant and it's movements. Here is some video of her watching ever so closely to the singing toy her brother gave to her!

Rolling, Rolling, Rolling

Alright, so Henley has mastered the rolling from tummy to back because she hates tummy time. She was able to do that early because I think she utterly detest being on her tummy unless it is to sleep! Henley has not quite gotten the rolling back to tummy. She can get on her side, but then can not figure how to get that arm out from under her? Christian sits and watches her sometimes and even shows her how to roll around, but tonight he got a little frustrated with her. I think he is desperately wanting her to roll around on the floor? Whatever the reason he has taken it upon himself to teach her how to do it? Roll over from her back. Here is some video of him assisting her and showing her how to do it. It is so cute, but you can also see what I mean about being a rough big brother! I do not think he knows his own strength? Cute! She takes it like a rockstar and just goes with the flow? Wait until she can beat him up!

4 months old and growing and growing!

Henley went this week for her 4 month check up and everything was perfect! She weighed 14lbs 4oz (50- 75 percentile) and 24 1/2 inches long (50 percentile)! Overall she is average and looks great! I think she weighs a little more, but they put her on a different scale than the last time and I think they are calibrated differently! My opinion only because she looks sooo much bigger to me? I am just glad she is healthy and meeting all her milestones. Unfortunately, she has had to be put on baby zantac because like her daddy and brother she has a terrible tummy! I hope she will not have to be on it to long but, if it helps her I do not mind. Henley had been terribly fussy and not sleeping well so the doctor suggested we try the medicine with her. The doctor said, that "not all babies with reflux spit up."

Some of the things she is doing right now are talking and laughing all the time, holding her head up very well on her tummy and she has almost mastered rolling from her tummy to her back! Sometimes it is hard to get her floor time because of her crazy brother. Christian thinks he is supposed to wrestle her every time she is down there? I wonder who has been teaching him that........Brian. Obviously, he is teaching him to wrestle not beat up his sister! Christian at least kisses her and says, " I sorry baby" after he makes her cry? Oh well, he is learning!

Superbowl Mania

Yesterday, as many of you know was the long awaited end to football season! Yea for me because I am personally tired of it! Reed had a big Superbowl party and it was child friendly, so we packed up the little ones and went on our way! I knew this would not end good since I had two children who had both refused naps all day! Christian, I knew would be fine because some of his favorite people would be there and he would play, play and play and that is just what he did! Reed is one of his favorite people on this planet and he could not stop talking about going to his house all day! In fact after church on the drive home he kept pointing in the direction of Reed's house saying, "That way, That way"! Once we got to Reed's that afternoon they threw the football around and just played. However, once Christian's other favorite person in the world arrived the scene changed. Malerie is the daughter of our friend Jana and Christian LOVES her. Malerie is 8 years old and the cutest thing and she is so sweet to Christian! He thinks she hung the moon and I believe she is his first crush! He just gets giddy whenever she comes around. Jana and Sam have a second daughter Isabella who is about to turn one in a week. Isabella and Christian played really sweet too. It makes me ask the question, why is he so mean to his sister and so nice to other little children? Oh well, maybe it is a sibling thing?

Christian loves football and since Auburn was represented with players in the Superbowl, he wore his Auburn jersey! Every time he sees a football game on he screams, " Auburn Tigers"! I needed to get that on video, but always seem to miss it! Since he had no nap and Henley was at the end of her rope with no nap either, we left at half time! The kids and I went home and they went straight to bed! I watched the rest of the game and it was a great one...then off to bed myself when Brian got home! I did manage to get some pictures of the kids and as you can tell Henley really enjoyed it!
