Memorial Weekend!!!

So the Summer is officially started and we are off to the races! I do not know about everyone else, but are weeks and weekends are booked to the hilt with things to do! I guess that is a good thing, but I always feel like I am running in circles getting ready for the next thing! I am going to try and keep up with the blogging, but as we all now I can get back logged!

Memorial weekend was so much fun for the family. We all left on Thursday afternoon and headed over to Atlanta for the night. On Friday we were meeting up with Reed, Melanie and her daughter Taylor to go to the Aquarium. Christian was so excited and could not wait to see all the sharks, whales and fish. He absolutely loves fish and was mesmerized by them all and could of watched them forever! We saw every type of fish you could of imagined and even some twice. I think the Beluga whales were his favorite and the sea otters too. They have this Deepo 4D movie at the Aquarium, which is a Nemo spin off and last about 15 minutes. Christian loved it and was even reaching out to catch the bubbles. He also stole the glasses when we left! Oh Well!

We left the Aquarium around 2:00 and headed over to Brian's parents lake house for the weekend. Both the kids napped for the drive, which was about two hours after was all said and done. When we arrived at the house everybody was excited to check out the lake. The weather was not supposed to be great that weekend, but we were holding out for the best. The water was a little chilly, but Brian was bound and determined to in. On Saturday we tried to get out early on the boat because the weather looked overcast. Brian, Reed and Christian went and got the boat and wave runner. Christian rode on the wave runner with Brian to the dock and I think he had a permanent smile on his face. Reed docked the boat and they all came in to get us for a ride. It was a little chilly on the water so not everyone had on a bathing suit. There was something wrong with the boat and it kept stalling so to make a long story short we got stuck out in the water. Brian went to get the wave runner and was showing off and ended up soaking the whole boat including his children! Yep! The kids were screaming and we were stuck in the lake freezing and oh did I mention he got the wave runner stalled in the midst of this too? We were stuck!!! A great way to start the morning :)!!! There was a good rain after that, but we got back on the boat later that day! Reed did some knee boarding and Taylor got to take a spin on the tube!
Sunday was a great day and we were able to get out on the boat almost all day. We did run into some rain, but not until after Reed and Brian took turns killing each other on the tube! Taylor also got more time on the tube! The girls thought the water was a little cold so we stayed in the boat. Brian was able to get Christian in the tube with him and he absolutely loved it! The day was perfect!
We had a great weekend going out, hanging out and just being with friends and family! Thanks to the Banta's for allowing us to stay in their house! Enjoy the pictures!

Congratulations Farron and Wade!

I have to start out with the fact that I am sooo tired if my blogging does not make any sense than it is because of lack of sleep on my end! School has been out for almost two weeks and finding ways to entertain little man all day is tiring! I am exhausted, but wanted to put something on the blog! Since the beginning of this month we have been going and going with little rest in between. The summer is just starting

The weekend of May 15th Brian and I traveled to Houston, Texas to witness one of our dear friends tie the knot! Farron was an old college friend of Brian's from Ole Miss. When Brian and I started dating she was dating Stefano ( Brian's best friend from college). We obviously became good friends because we all did things together. Farron is such a great friend and would do anything for you including giving her the shirt off her back! We are so glad that she has found the love of her life in Wade and they make a wonderful couple! The wedding was so much fun and beautiful. They actually got married at their new home in Houston. The house reminded me of a New Orleans style house and it should...seeming that they are both born and bread New Orleaners! What a great job they did getting it ready for all the people they would have coming and going that weekend! The weather held out and there was no rain until after the ceremony! It was absolutely perfect and we were so glad to be there to watch it happen! We are both so happy for the two of them and wish them a lifetime of happiness!

This was the first weekend that Brian and I have been away from both the kids for any length of time. I was excited about the break away... it was well needed! We were a little concerned for Henley because she was not great with a bottle, but she took it like a champ! I think we are getting close to trying to wean her because she liked the bottle so much? We will see? Brian and I did not have to worry about Christian because he just follows my father around like a shadow and plays and plays! I am not sure if I got anymore rest than if I would of been home, but it was nice to sleep through the night! It was also nice to have some time with my hubby and no children interrupting our conversations! I enjoyed just being able to do what I wanted and not have to worry about anyone else. There were no sippy cups, bottles, diapers or snacks to pack when I went out...just me and myself! I did not know what to do? I think it made me realize how much I go, go and no slowing down with the kids! It was nice to just sit and enjoy a meal with no crying or arguments about eating! Don't get me wrong we missed our little ones sooo much, but it was nice to get away! Now we have a busy summer ahead of us so if I do not blog consistently than you know why!

Happy Birthday Daddy

This past Thursday was Brian's Birthday! He had been out of town, but was coming home that night! There was a little one that was patiently awaiting his arrival! We had wrapped some presents that morning and it was all I could do to keep them that way! Christian LOVES to open presents regardless of whom they belong too!

Brian loves to eat at Davenport's for all of you who do not know him and it has become a tradition for him! When Brian arrived home he was made to sit down and open his gifts immediately! There was a helper of course that opened the majority of the presents! Brian is so sweet and just lets him do whatever he wants with a big smile on his face. Brian got a new grill set from the kids and some great shirts and a new belt from his parents!

We met Julie, Steve and the kids at Davenport's and all had dinner together! The kids were all great and no meltdowns occurred! Yeah! Christian and Bennett are at the age where they entertain each other very well. This summer at the beach is going to be great for them...they play so well together! Julie and Steve gave Brian a great shirt and a casual belt too for his birthday!

After dinner we went home to have cake and celebrate. My parents came over and had cake with us and brought Brian his gifts. I had made Brian a home made cake from scratch and icing from scratch too! Just call me Betty Crocker! I was excited to taste the cake because I had never home made one before! We loaded it up with all the candles and sang Happy Birthday. We had cake and Brian opened his other gifts with help...of course! He received two more great shirts and a pair of shorts. He certainly had a great birthday!

I had yet to give Brian his present and he was going to get his surprise on Saturday! Brian had no idea what he was going to get and I was excited about what I had planned! Well...lets just say, I now have to find something else to get my husband for his birthday! I had planned an adventure with some of his closest friends. We were all going out to the Motorsports Racing Club in Alabaster, Al to race Go Karts! They were to drive laps around the speedway at 55mph. Now for those who are thinking that is not that fast, you are wrong! Being that the Go Karts are just inches from the ground that is actually flying! Once Brian knew what was going on he was soooo excited! So to make a long story short here is what happened. We are on our way to the Race Club and we get a call from Julie. Julie told us she had called the club to see if it mattered about the weather because it was raining. Julie was told that they were not renting the Karts anymore? What? I had just spoke with them two days ago and nobody had mentioned this! Apparently, they were planning on closing down the Race Club in June. They were trying to sell the Go Karts and somebody came in on Friday and bought them all!!! Are you kidding me? I was furious! There were no Go Karts that day and Brian was disappointed, but I will think of something else to surprise him with! All and all I think he has a great birthday weekend! We love you and Happy Birthday! We look forward to many, many more!

Boys, Boys and more Boys

The other weekend we were at our friends house the Copelands. They have three boys and Christian is best buddies with her two oldest Preston and Elijah. Their third is Henley's age plus 11 weeks. Preston always loves for them to take baths together and they have so much fun. This particular night they were up late, so we bathed them together before we left. Here are some snapshots Susan took of all four boys in the bath! Too Cute!! Preston being the oldest...almost 5 we had him cover his privates with a cup! We wanted them suitabe for showing!

7 Months Already?

It is hard to believe how quickly time fly's by when you have children! It seems like yesterday that I was told "you are not going home...your having this baby tomorrow!" I can not believe our baby girl is growing so fast! I have to say, I am sooo happy we have a daughter and I fall in love with her more and more everyday! Henley's smile just melts my heart and I love to watch her discover new things daily! The fascination in her eyes! She loves her big brother and just lights up when he comes in the room! The two of them play every morning on the floor. Christian takes her toys and sits there and talks to her and will read her books! Occasionally he will hit her with one too, but not so often anymore!

Henley is a happy baby, but VERY stubborn! She comes by it naturally, but it is definitely going to be interesting as she gets older! I have been trying to get her completely sleeping in her bed and no swing or anything! I have to tell you it is a battle of will...who will give in quicker! The other night and I am not exaggerating she screamed and went nuts for a solid hour! I had to finally go get her because she was hyper-ventilating! Are you serious? Baby steps, but we are getting there! Henley is not sleeping through the night, but that is not bothersome to me! I still am nursing her and so the self soothing thing is an issue! Unfortunately she thinks a boob is what she needs to drift off to dreamland! I have been trying to give her a bottle every night to get her used to something else, but it is not her favorite thing. Henley will suck on the bottle, but if she is really tired than no way is she taking it!

Henley loves food and now that she has FOUR teeth we can experiment a lot more! Her top two teeth have come in last week and her bottom two, two weeks before! Thank goodness that is over because she was seriously cranky! She loves all food and I think there is nothing that I have given her that she did not like! I have started giving her puffs and yogurt melts. I have never seen a child gobble food down like she does! A little vulture...she even tries to eat the food off my plate! Christian is enjoying feeding her too and even knows that it has to be little pieces!

I should put some food on the floor because I think she would try to crawl too it! Recently in the past week she goes from sitting to being on her hands and knees! I do not think she knows where to go from there, but it is a start! Christian will not be happy when she starts crawling because she will be in his stuff all the time! I already here that's mine all the time! Oh well it is just beginning! Brian and I are so blessed to have such healthy, thriving wonderful children! I thank God everyday for my family!
