So I had a Sprinkle?????

So I have to admit that the first time I heard of a sprinkle it was on someones else's blog! I never knew such a thing existed. A couple of friends of mine had offered to throw me a shower for the birth of our daughter but, I politely declined. Honestly, I do not need a thing! I have been picking up things along the way during this pregnancy since I found it was a girl. I also have a lot of unisex outfits from Christian and hand me downs from friends and family! Well if anyone has ever met my sister they would know she was not going to allow for something special not to be done for our little girls birth. Heather recently moved to Indianapolis, but we have seen her quite often in the past seven months. Since we both went to Auburn she did not want to miss some of the big games happening this year and LSU was one of them. Heather was coming down for the game and requested that she, our mom and I all go out for a nice lunch. Alright.....nothing strange with that and I figured it would just be a nice afternoon. I had no idea where we were going, I just was told to dress nice and wear some make-up! I know.....as a mom it is so easy to just get up and go! Well, I was having a bad day and really not in that great of a mood. This growing child in my tummy is beating me up and down. I do not sleep at all and in fact my OB gave me ambien 10mg and I still can not sleep! Wow! That is pretty bad! I feel every twinge, pain and not to mention some nerve she is sitting on? It has been rough this second go around, but it is always worth it in the end when god blesses you with a wonderful new life!

My sister was so secretive and it was driving me crazy because I had no idea where we were eating and what was going on. I figured out quickly were we going, but was secretly upset because I had eaten there before and not had a good meal. I did not say a thing to her because she was so excited about our luncheon and I did not want to be the party pooper! We arrived at this place called Mrs. Rosenberg's Tea Room. This is a quaint little restaurant in Birmingham that is exactly what it sounds like a Tea Room. They serve small meals and an assortment of hot and cold teas! I am not a big tea drinker it just tastes like warm water to me! Well, as we walked to the door I was thinking how tired and hungry I was and that there was nothing here that was going to satisfy me! I know.....could I be more unappreciative, but I did not know what was about to happen! We walked in the door and sitting at a table in front of me were a few friends and family. I just shook my head because at this point I am realizing what my sister had just done and how much work it took on her part to pull this off from another state! Heather just invited a few close friends of mine and made it very small and cozy! There were only six of us there because I had a few friends who could not make it and my sister-in-law just had her baby two days before, but I enjoyed every minute. I love how thoughtful it was to do something special for the birth of our second child! I did not want anyone making a fuss and so Heather made sure it was small and NOT some huge deal.
They had a wreath made for her to put on my door with her name on it and it was adorable. That is what I saw first when I walked in the restaurant and I can not wait to post a picture. I told my mom to keep it bring it up to the hospital because I did not want to forget it! I also got some great gifts from my friends. Mostly girly clothes and blankets because I had a lot of blue stuff. My mother also thought about me and gave me a gift for the hospital, some PJ's that were long sleeved because I am always cold. They are also perfect for nursing considering she is as skilled as her brother at feeding! Hopefully, that will be the case! My sister probably gave me the most special gift of all besides organizing this wonderful event. Heather learned to crochet two years ago and not because she had nothing better to do! She made a fabulous blue blanket for Christian when he was born and continued to make him hats and booties over the years! Well, for our little girl she made these pink and white booties and a hat to match with a white flower on the rim! ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!!!!! I think probably my most favorite gift ever! I would post pictures, but I had not idea this was happening and did not have a camera! Heather has pictures, but I have not gotten them from her. I know people hate when I post a blog with no pictures, but I have not choice with this one!

To finish off this blog I have to say, that the meal was great and I had an extremely wonderful time. Heather was able to customize the meal and she could pick things that she knew that I liked and would eat. We started out with a choice of soup and I had the butternut squash. Yummy! I could of had another cup after the first one. Then we had a plate with three different sandwich's. A salmon roll, a cucumber sandwich and a chicken curry sandwich! It was just enough for me because I do not have much room. If that was not enough, than we had dessert! I absolutely love dark chocolate and anybody who knows me can attest that I can not resist it! The desserts were a little key lime tart, chocolate eclair and a dark chocolate almond crunch! I know this sounds like a lot, but they were small portions! By the time we were done I was stuffed and thrilled at the lovely afternoon that had just transpired! I only wish that everyone could have been there to celebrate this momentous occasion!

I truly appreciate the thoughtfulness of my sister and will treasure this special time forever! Thanks to all my friends who participated, it meant the world to me!

Future Auburn Kicker!?????

So this past Saturday we all packed up and went down to the Auburn for the LSU game. The game was at 6:45pm so we had all day to tailgate and walk around Auburn. I knew this would be my one and only chance to go down this year, so I jumped at the chance. I had just been checked by my Ob so I knew that my contractions were not changing my cervix at this point and I felt pretty safe. Brian was worried to let me drive home by myself with Christian when the game started so I only went because my good friend Brittany rode back with me! We left on Saturday around 11:30am and had NO traffic? I guess everyone had gone down before or Auburn has just been that bad that people did not want to go to the game. I assume the lateness of the game can be a little difficult on people as well? Christian has been to games before, but this is the first year he really gets that something fun is going on. He loves to watch football with his daddy and can say, Go Tigers! I think Brian would prefer Go Rebels, but I think he will attend more AU games then Ole Miss. We stopped at this store in Alexander City that sells AU shirts and stuff and bought Christian an AU jersey and a football! SO CUTE! I do not know why he never had one before. The ride down was easy and Christian sang and entertained us all the way.

Once in Auburn we got to the tailgate and just hung out for awhile with our friends. We have a big tailgate and the area where we are is pretty big. A bunch of Alumni have a band right next to us so Christian showed off some of his signature dance moves. He also stayed busy flirting with all the petty girls who walked by and learning how to throw and kick the football. Stopping occasionally to give Isabella (a good friend some kisses). He loves to play ball and is gotten good at the throwing part, but catching is still a little difficult for him. We were showing him how to kick the football and he loved it. I think he also loved the attention he was getting from all the people that passed by.

Brian and Christian hung out at the tailgate and I went walking around Auburn. We went to the bookstores and purchased something cute for our new addition coming in 12 days. I got her this adorable Auburn outfit with matching booties. I figured if she is born during football season in the south an Auburn outfit is a necessity! Anyway, the day passed quickly and soon it was time for Christian and I to go home. I had been contracting all day and I was worn out and so was my little tiger. I believe Christian was asleep before we even hit highway 280. No naps = lots of sleep! Hope you enjoy the pictures!

Welcome to the World John Preston Mizerany!

On September 16th at 7:23 am Julie and Steven Mizerany extended their precious family! Bennett was blessed with a new baby brother weighing in at a whopping 8lbs and 5oz and 20.5 inches long. He is absolutely adorable and has the cutest kissable cheeks! I am not weighing in yet on whom he looks like because I think it is a little of both right now....leaning a little more towards the Banta clan though! Julie is doing great and recovering wonderfully and Steve of course is the proud papa! The days I was up at the hospital little Bennett did not seem to be bothered with a baby being around! That will be very helpful for them.....however that remains to be seen because Preston has not come into her territory yet! I am sure I might get a little glimpse of how bad it will be for me with Christian! I know without a doubt my life is going to be difficult when I bring her home from the hospital!

Julie and Steve have a lot of help with her parents being in town and Debbie staying through the month to help Julie get adjusted. I know that Steve's family is a hop skip and a jump away too. They have plenty of help! Of course Brian and I are available too for the next few weeks and we do not mind doing anything for our family! I am a horrible aunt because the two times I went up to the hospital I did not have my camera! I am ridiculously absented minded right now and have a one track mind! Sorry everyone, but I will get some soon and post them! If you want to see how cute Preston is go to Julie's blog. There is a link from mine on the left hand side!

So Tired.....

I admit I am a terrible blogger and in fact I am going to try to be better. My sister-in-law puts me to shame. I have not blogged in awhile just from shear exhaustion and to tired to care, but I promise that is going to change. I want to post things about Christian and what is going on in the end of my pregnancy for those whom I do not talk to often.

Well, it is getting near the end and thank the Lord because I do not think I can handle being pregnant any longer. I am exhausted and not sleeping at all! I even have been taking Ambien every night from my doctors orders, but NO sleep??? I can fall asleep, but once I wake up that is it and I am up for the remainder of the night off and on. Yesterday Christian decided to boycott nap time and was utterly exhausted by 6:00. You moms know the kind of tired that they do not even know what they want? I tried for an hour to get him to sleep, but he wanted me to sleep with him and of course that was not my plan. I wanted to take a long bath because my contractions were killing me and that would help a little. Well, that did not happen and we all ended up in bed early with Christian in our room! Which of course was fine because I am always willing to try and get more rest.

Now for those that keep reading you are probably wandering about the contractions? Yep! I am having them and alot of them, but nothing is changing! I am so frustrated because just like my sister-in-law I too am having horrible pains. I think she is sitting on a nerve or something because some days I can not even put pressure on one of my legs to stand! It hurts sooooo bad! Second pregnancies are definitely more difficult than the first or you feel more aches and pains! However, the outcome is so worth it! I am not so lucky in the begging department with my doctor to take her early, not even a day! I saw her on Wednesday and she said, " Sorry we just can not risk taking her one day before 39 weeks!" I even cried and she said no! I am not a crier either so for me to have done that was HUGE! Oh well, that makes 2 1/2 weeks away and she is going to be joining into a great circle of people with the same birthdays! One being her Uncle Stevie! Unless of course she wants to come sooner and that would be alright with me!

Today is Saturday and we are all going down to the Auburn vs. LSU game in Auburn. Pray that I do not go into Labor because I would be SOL down there. This will be Christian's third Auburn game and we are looking forward to it. I am not staying for the game because it is too late @ 6:45pm and that would be to much for our little man and his mommy! Game day will be there and it should be real fun for him! I will post some pictures this weekend!

Our Little 2 Year Old!

We can hardly believe that two years has gone by and our little baby has turned into a running, screaming, playful little guy! We look at him and listen to all the things he says, and just look at each other and laugh! Where in the world does he pick up some of the things he does sometimes? It leaves Brian and I pointing fingers at each other and saying, "He got that from you!" Last year at his first birthday we gave out CD's that I made with all types of nursery rhyme songs. Well now that is all we listen to in our car everyday!!! Christian loves this CD and sings the words to a few songs and will scream at you if you do not play the right one! There is a Happy Birthday song on there that he is obsessed with and wants to sing over and over. I keep telling him it is no longer his birthday, but he does not care! I want to get it on video, but have not had the opportunity!

Christian's 2nd birthday was on Aug. 29 and we celebrated with a little party on that Saturday. Mostly family and a few friends of his are all that attended, but my goodness the gifts were just a little much! I think that our two year old has more toys than most kids twice his age! SPOILED ROTTEN!!!!! Most of our immediate family has birthdays in the Summer except his Poppy and Uncle Stevie! So this summer he got to witness alot of present opening and I must say has become an expert at it! I do not even think he cares what is in the gift, he just wants to rip it open! I took much more video of him at his birthday than I did pictures so you will have to excuse the lack of pictures! The video on blogger is being very difficult and downloading has not been very easy these days!

The birthday party was from 10-12 in the afternoon and had a Thomas the Train theme because he is obsessed with trains right now! Being 81/2 months pregnant I was not doing anything extravagant for this party! We put up the water slide and the kids could come and go as they pleased. They would play inside and then go outside too. We had pizza and cake to eat and that was about it! Once everyone had eaten we decided to do the cake and blow out candles! Christian loves blowing out candles.....so he was excited to finally get his turn! I promise I did not put trick candles on his cake, but it took a few trys to blow them out. I think he spit more on the cake than anything, but it was adorable and I do not think anyone minded! I do not know what possessed me to take on the challenge of making his cake, but I thought it could not be that difficult! It actually was pretty easy except the icing was a little pain in the rear! I made a train cake and iced it in colors of Thomas the Train! I must say that it turned out very cute, but I am a far cry from Martha Stewart! I am just cheap and did not want to shell out the expense for having a cake made! My mother however, she did all that stuff for my sister and I growing up and she helped me out a little! I can not take all the credit!

After cake we opened presents! I would prefer waiting until everyone leaves because it is less chaotic, but Brian wanted him to open them all right there and then. I think it can be a little overwhelming for a 2 year old, but oh well! He got more trains than any child could possibly imagine. We now have train tracks up and downstairs for him to play with all the time! My house looks like freaking Toys R Us! Brian and I gave him an automatic truck that he can drive around the yard and in the driveway. He loves it! I only have to make sure he does not go down the driveway because that would be bad! My parents gave him a Radio Flyer spring horse......that he is not so sure of because it is to big for him right now. Nene and Poppy Banta gave him a remote control boat for the lake in front of our house and some hot wheel cars! He puts the cars on the train tracks too! I could go on and on and list all his toys, but that would take up the whole blog! Lets just say, maybe next year there is a one toy limit from everyone! I need to go through old toys and start giving to Hanna Home because it is just ridiculous for someone his age to have so much! Thank you notes are on the way everyone.....I ran out and had to order more so I apologize for the tardiness! All and all it was a great day and our little guy was exhausted after everyone left! He was a little wound up from all the toys and I had to put them away to get him to calm down for his nap! I believe he drifted off to sleep dreaming of trains and all his toys he could play with when he woke up! Thanks to everyone who made it such a great day for Christian! We will all have wonderful memories to look back on one day!

The Date is Set....

So today I went into see my OB for my two week visit. I had full intention of coming out with a different date for her arrival, but my doctor absolutely refused! I am a little disappointed because I was under the impression that my due date was different from what she had calculated. Anyhow, the date is set for October 8th! I wanted the six or even the 7th, but she would not help me out at all! St. Vincents has had some issues with babies being born earlier than 39 weeks by election, so now they are very strict about this issue! Seriously....not even one day before 39 weeks? She proceeded to tell me I could do the c-section later that week on Friday, but I do not want to go any longer then I have too! This date is not set in stone because she could of course come earlier with some help! I am going to try every wise tale I have heard and see what happens! I have actually been told by an OB, not my own, that drinking castor oil will always put you in labor! Yuck! I will wait and see how I feel in a few weeks! So basically my count down is five weeks from today!
I of course am not ready at all and need to get moving on buying things to finish her room and get some last minute things. Christian started school today and that will give me some time to get things done in the next few weeks!
